Can i remove a vibration sensor without triggering alarm, if alarm is not ?

Can i remove a vibration sensor without triggering alarm, if alarm is not set? I have a sensor on my patio doors which I'm in the process of replacing and i need to remove the sensor.

only if you have the engineering code,if the system has been installed to standard,as soon as you remove the cover,and it will trip a tamper on the control panel,some panels will allow you to reset by putting in your pin,others wont,depends on who fitted the system,and how it has been programmed
