slow broadband connection?

broadband runs on coax cable. Needs shielding from outside electromagnetic waves. Broadband is notorious
for network congestion during peek hours. I would try cleaning out unwanted temp internet files, cookies, any malware, spyware, adware. Check to see what other programs are running in the background. Look for programs updating while your online. Could also be website user congestion. Good luck.

Your Line Speed is a function of the length and quality of the line. However that line includes your Internal Wiring - for which you are responsible.)

So here are some tips on getting the best out of what you have: Ensure that your router is plugged into the Master Socket - NOT an extension.

ALL telephony devices MUST be connected via a filter.

Finally remove the faceplates of your telephone sockets and ensure that ONLY the following wires are connected: Blue & White to connector 2 and White & Blue to connector 5. NO OTHER wire should be connected because they can cause noise on your broadband connection.

Additionally, you say that "the Broadband is slow at times". Some ISPs are better than others at peak times. Products to avoid are Sky Connect and O2 Access.

I have recently switched my Internet browser from Firefox to Google Chrome - I have noticed a much faster speed of painting the screen i.e. irrespective of what's happening on the "line" Chrome works faster - it might work for you too and it costs nothing to try.

Is the pc that is receiving the internet connection connected wirelessly? If so, try a direct connection.
