Mend Fiat Punto 1.2 Problem Sounds Firing

My Fiat Punto?

I have a Fiat Punto 1.2 petrol 51 reg.
The problem is it does not run smoothly and sounds like it is miss firing.
I have put a new thermostat on it also new plugs and leads.but this has not solved the problem also we have noticed it still gets hot hence the reason for changing the thermostat.
I would be greatful for any thoughts on the matter.

Fiat Fiat Punto 1.2 Vehicles, Cars Problem Sounds Firing

Could be head gasket leaking. Take it to a garage and get them to perform a "sniff test" on the radiator expansion tank. This tests for carbon monoxide and will prove your head gasket either way.

as its still getting hot, check water pump is ok.
also check your coil is working properly.
