Mend Veritas 8C Alarm Sounding Set

alarm sounding when set?

when the battery is in my veritas 8c panel it goes off when set in the middle of the night i thought it was something to do with the temprature by the way this is in the garage but i need a battery in the panel it also happend on the old panel thats whyi bought this panel and a new battery and i cant afford to keep buying new panels any ideas
