Mend Vauxhall 1.8 CD Ti EGR Valve Engine Cut Out

i have a vauxhall 2004 1.8 cd tdi. It drives ok for a few miles then jerks,?

then engine cuts out. was diagnosed as EGR valve. got a new one, but still has problem.
