How to repair an over wound pocket or wrist watch?

I have several old watches that I over wound. Can these be repaired? One is an antique wrist watch, the other a twenty-five year old pocket watch

You can take watches to the shops where you buy them or special stores sell this watch.I buy Rolex watches from http://www.buy-cheap-rolex-watches.com/ and http://www.cheaprolexshop.com/ the products have high quality,so don't worry the quality.A mazing deal!

Your first answer is spot on corect, exept for the wd-40, it's
to havy for the job. watch cleaning fuel is safer. I didhave few
problems like this and by using the fuel all of the watches and clocks started tik -toking again.

I've seen on several watch sites that 'overwinding' is not usually possible. It's likely that the watch has some issue that prevents it from running and your attempts to make it run by winding it will eventually wind the spring to its maximum capacity. Possible problems are simple dirt or corrosion, lack of lubrication, or broken or dislodged parts. I've read that it's not simple for laymen to diagnose or repair (for example, using WD-40 to clean out gunk may dissolve sludge but will also remove watch oil and grease from pivot points). The consensus recommendation is to have a watch repairman clean and oil the watch, which will also identify other possible problems.
