Mend Bissell Pro Heat 2x Carpet

How can I fix mt Bex Bissell Pro Heat 2x?

Every time I try to shampoo the carpet the machine cuts out. On two occasions I've had to change the small switch which is fitted inside the machine. Indications point to an electrical short somewhere from the motor to the switch. This machine has only cleaned four carpets from new.
