Depending on your radio model, the SECURE error message has two meanings:

1. Several invalid attempts to enter the radio code have been made. SOLUTION: Leave the radio turned on (showing SECURE) for 1 hour, it should request a code again. But if you do not have the code, do not try to push random numbers as after approx. 17 attempts it will show 'LOCKED' and will no longer request a code.

2. NATS anti-theft system active. Modern Nissan radios have a link to the car immobiliser (NATS). On the first power-up. the radio remembers the immobiliser ID. If the radio is retrofitted into another car, it will display SECURE. SOLUTION: Only a Service Centre can make the radio 'new' again or remove the NATS feature allowing the radio to be used.
