why does my house alarm alert me to a tamper. ?

Andy- the panel tamper switch is hard wired into the circuit. it was there I found a loose dry solder joint. I probably disturbed it while rumaging in the wire birds nest. with that sorted all works as advertised. thanks mate youv'e saved me a bundle!

If all was ok before moving the door contacts it can only be either faulty contacts wiring fault or worse case fautly panel. First link out the tampers for the door circuits within the panel. If the tamper alert is clear the panel is ok if not the panel is faulty. Then remove the links refit the cable and twist the tamper cores in the cable together at the contact end (check you have the same colours at either end) if the tamper alert is clear then its either faulty contacts or wired incorrectly at the contact if the tamper alert appears then its damaged cable.
