My Triton T80si shower won't turn off ?

Have tried turning off the appliance and also the mains pull chord, but still the water flows!

This followed a cut in the supply of water to my house. Could it be that debri has been introduced when the supply came back on again. One person at work suggested that this may have affected the solenoid that could simply be cleaned out?

Any help much appreciated.
