Had this problem with mine a few times.... the on/off switch contacts are burnt. Remove the front panel, lower the front of switch panel, behind the on/off knob is a crappy little slide switch. Make a note of the wiring connections, disconnect and remove the switch. With a very small screwdriver/sewing needle, carefully dismantle the switch and clean the contacts inside. reassemble, refit, and all will be ok. F1 codes started coming up too for the same reason...
