Mend Hotpoint CTD40 Drum Broken

how to fix the sensor strip -hotpoint CTD40?

Hi - the metal strip that goes around the outside of the drum has broken - I think this is the sensor strip? - is it easy to replace and what is the cost - may not be worth it?
