Autofocus in Cannon 400D Digital Camera?

Whilst unwittingly cleaning the sensor of the camera a spring
fell out holding the mirror. This has resulted in loss of autofocus when taking photos rendering the camera useless.

Can anyone please think of a cost effective way to fix this problem?
