aprilia rs 125 2004 - fuel leaking out of two pipes from the carb?

I have had my bike off the road for around 3 years. Ive decided to get it back on the road so its all set and ready to go but once i turned the fuel on, petrol began to leak out of two little pipes on the carb. are both these pipes meant to be not connected to something or are they just overflow pipes? They're the pipes that are on either side of the top of the carb

like bb says and also make sure the carb isnt twisted in thwe manifold as if its not sitting upright when the bike is upright the float will not work properly,also any debris in on and around the float needle will stop the needle seating in the needle seat and allow the fuel to flow out,these pipes are a safetey feature and stop the engine from filling up with fuel leave them how they are they don not join to anything just hang down.one thing worth checking is the float on these bikes i have had several in the past leak on the seam of the plastic float and fill will fuel which makes it sink and not float on the fuel which stops it working.shake the float to see if it has fuel in it and if it does buy an new one.

Your carb will be blocked and floats stuck. Basically the float stop the flow of petrol. These are stuck and then the float fills and over flows. The floats stop the carb over flowing.
The thing to watch for is to ensure your twostroke oil is flowing correctly from the pump. If theis is stuck or doesnt work properly then you can kiss good bye to your pistons!
I would buy a manual and give it a good service as its been laid up for a while
New Plug
Strip carb and check oil pump.
Fresh petrol
New Air filter
when run for first time take it easy!!
