Mend Ryobi

How can I mend my Ryobi PCN 4545 18" chainsaw?

The saw starts OK but won't idle. I have to switch it off or put the brake on to stop the chain turning.

PCN 4545 Ryobi won't idle.. adjusting the Low/Hi and the Throttle screws did not make any difference.
I trawled the web for answers but all the checks mentioned did not apply to me.

Inoticed that the throttle screw was unable to do its job- This was because the wire (looks like bicycle brake wire) that goes from the throttle trigger on the handle to the carburettor assy was to short about 2-3mm.. over time..(maybe because the chassis has expanded over time or the handle has moved away from the main chassis body by about 2-3mm short over time.

The throttle trigger cable being about 3mm short over time prevented the throttle from closing in far enough to make the chainsaw idle/or to engage(touch) the throttle screw to make the adjustment viable.

I opened the trigger handle assy (3 screws).
I took about 4mm of the outer black plastic covering off the trigger wire cable, exposing more of the inner wire. this allowed more of the inner wire to get to the throttle end (add slack).
I reassembled and can now adjust the throttle correctly using the screw to make the Chainsaw idle.

hoorah!

Check clutch for broken or stretched spring, check sproket bearing turns smoothly on the crank, i would suggest not useing it until this is rectified
