stop engine light on temp high fan cutting out ?

have you checked the continuity of the new switch?? does the fan have power when the ignition is on??check by using an electricians type screwdriver and picking a sopt where the wiring attaches at the fan i think it should have a permanant live and/or intermitant (only lights up when the ignition is switched on at the key, temp high could be simple as fan not cutting in properly as above, inadequate coolant in system, thermostat or sign of head gasket failing
