A dismantled Honda GV100 motor on a Mountfield Laser Omega 42?

My boyfriend has taken my lawnmower apart and I don't know which direction the large spring that pulls the starter cord back in goes. Can anyone help please? Also, there are 4 places to position the 2 little pegs that spin out and catch the sides to spin the blades. Which 2 do I use? Many thanks
