why wont my PE 180D stitch?

I was using my machine and embroidered about 6 items, it then said check top or bottom thread is not cut, after that it will not pick up the thread at all. I have checked that the bobbin and case are clean and correct the thread on top moves easily, but it just will not hold a stitch
