From bad to worst?

Hi all,

I had the same problem as most of you guys, got error 161 and 163. Went to the shop, got new battery and connected the wires and replaced. The same errors is STILL there and booted to were you must fill in the date. Get same errors over and over.... Tried the F1 trick, but with no luck. This caused error 8611 to appearon next boot up!....still doesn’t go into setup... (The mouse pointer was completely crazy when in the Date menu) After error 8611 it stopped booting. (only showed error code 8611 once) Now, when I turn the thing on all it does is shows "130496 KB OK" the curser flickers and then moves down one line and doesn’t continue booting. No POST beeps.

When I try the escape trick I get error 76 and 301. Stuck here!!

I saw on google that you can disable the track pointer which I suspect to be the problem, but I can't get to setup in the first place !!!

Any advice will be helpful. Maybe time for upgrade.....
