Mend Ford 260C Tractor Alternator Battery

how can i turn off the battery light on a 260c ford tractor?

I have checked the alternator with a volt meter and I am getting 13.4vlts out of the alternator. The ground wire and the alternator both get very hot and the charge light stays on all the time. I have replaced the alternator and the resistor under the battery. Can you help?
