Zanussi zwd1471 stopped with start light flashing?
I have a zanusi zwd 1471, it fills with water then stops with start pause light flashing, and doesn't continue with wash cycle. It doesn't matter what temperature or wash program is selected, however the machine spins and drains o.k. And the dryer function works too. The problem started after drying towels in the machine for 2hrs,
Any suggestions about where I should start to look? Heaters or thermostats? The reason I ask is I am an electrical engineer so am reasonably confident I could fix the fault if I was pointed in the right direction.
This sounds very similar to a problem that I've been having intermittently. Here is a list of fault codes for the ZWD1470 (I assume the same codes as the 1471 that I have):

You find the code by holding the start/pause and reset buttons simultaneously, once the machine has stopped and the start/pause led is flashing.
Should give you a better clue as to what needs replacing.
