i have bought a panasonic hd tv, and when watching a message appears at times saying that the programme is also available to watch in hd, but how do i switch to hd?

When the set was installed and went through the auto-tuning it should have picked up the HD channels, if they are being broadcast in your area. There is probably an Electronic Programme Guide included in the TV which is probably accessed by operating the 'Guide' button, or similar,on the Remote control. Get into the EPG and scroll through the programmes, if any HD channels are being received they will show up.

If your TV has Freeview HD or Freesat HD, you tune to one of the HD channels e.g. BBC HD, ITV HD.
