piaggio nrg mc2 liquid cooled wont start?

i have a 98 nrg 50 lc, the bike will start and run but it then seems as though it isnt getting enough fuel and it dies down. If you keep it wound on the bike will cut out. If you ease it gently it sometimes picks back up. But as soon as you turn it off, it will not start again unless you have some easy start to hand. I have cleaned out the carb and fitted a new temperature sensor on the head but the connections seem lose! Is it the choke, linked to the temp sensor, or is it not pulling through enough fuel. Im stuck on it now and its been sat still for 9 months. I just cant get rid of peggy any ideas, thanks

Had the same prob with my nrg mc2, I blew air up the tank and it worked for a short time. Did it again and used prem gas, works great

dan when you took the carb apart did you clean the choke jet out and the pilot jet properly?if it runs well at high revs the main jet is ok but bad a low revs seems like the pilot jet is blocked in particular.also is the air box and pipework from carb to airbox ok as if its not it will run weak and cause this too.

yer checked spark. New plug. Thats fine. Cleaned jets aswel. It does it hot and cold. Going to try a new carb i think, £25 will be nothing if she runs again. Luckily i dont have to rely on her as i drive anyway. But when its a sunny day you just want wind on your face and i cant exactly stick my head out of the car window like my dog. poor peggy. most of the time it is fuel. It sounds like it to me. I had an aprillia with very similar issues. In the end I got a differant carb off ebay and it worked a treat. Carbs do wear out. If you have defo cleaned it and made sure all the jets are clean. you can pick one up for £20 probabaly
Just a few questions.
Does it do this when it is hot?
Have you changed plug and have you checked spark?
