How can i fix my zanussi zwf14380w washing machine?

When i put the washing machine on a 40 cycle for example, the total washing time is approx 1.25hrs after about 5 mins the timer goes back to 1min, just before this happens there is a temperature/thermometer system which comes up in the top left hand corner of the display.does this mean that the heater element is not working ????
