You could try DSG (aka Dixons) as Matsui is one of their own label brands. Reason being that DSG don't make Matsui they have it made for them.

Having said that, the cost of fixing it is probably not worth it as budget DVD players are so cheap to buy now.

If you've had it under a year however, why not take it back to the Dixons or Currys where you bought it?
