yes you can change it without interfering with timing belt draw a diagramme first of the way belt goes round then locate tensioner and think its a torque put in and move tensioner (spring loaded) and belt will have slack then pull off and slip new 1 back in place (would be better if you have some 1 to help you whilst holding tensioner back ) to refit belt
