I dont know this hedgetrimmer but would look at the following:-
Back off the bolts that hold the blades together and inspect the blades at the point the wire hit the blades there may be a large burr . Use a small swiss file and make good damaged area.
If there is no drive then there may be a safety shear pin or key on the drive, thats designed to break rather than damage the blades. This will mean taking the trimmer apart and inspecting the drive to the blades. If you are not happy with taking the machine apart take it to your local agent.
