Mend Chaffoteaux & Maury Immersion Water Working

How do I replace the immersion heater?

I have a chaffoteaux & maury water heater and the water does not heat up. How do I check that the immersion heater is working or not and if not how do I replace the immersion heater?

check it's getting power.
if power their do a resistance test on the immersion.
