my pc is tower type ,it has dvd rom also a reader writer, when computer is turned on the writer opens and shuts itself continous somtimes at speed i cannot stop it.
Unless you are skilled at fixing electronic devices those drives are usually replaced rather than repaired.
To stop the driver from opening an shutting until you can get new one. Open the case and remove the power cable (it is the one with the larger diameter cables) from the back of the drive.
