Replacing Belts on a Sony TC WR565?

Hi: I have a Sony TC WR565 Dual Cassette Deck. I'm attempting to replace the belts. I've got the right side, the Record / playback side working properly. But, the left side, the playback side is giving me trouble. I route the belts on the pulleys, then assemble it. But when I try to operate the controls, nothing happens. The head unit will just sort of stay in a semi-playback position & will not drop down & none of the controls work. (i.e playback, reverse mode, fast forward, reverse, etc). The only thing I can think of that is wrong is that I either have the belts routed wrong, or the gear sprockets are indexed wrong at time of assembly. I have the belts routed the exact same way as the right side cassette well, which is working properly. Or, is the belts routed different between the 2 deck wells? If anyone can give me help, I would appreciate it. Or, if someone could provide pictures of what the indexing of the gear sproket assembly looks like, on the left side deck well, at time of assembly.
