can u tell me why my rcd does not trip when i send a fault current through it,but sometimes trips out by itself.it is a main switch rcd. it is 18yrs old
rcd`s are not designed to trip on fault current but if it detects live to earth or neutral to earth faults it should trip.to test if its working press test button
