why is my car making a knocking sound?

hi i have a vauxhall corsa 1.2 and it is making a knocking sound coming from the back while i am driving and sometimes when i break i can hear the knocking sound then too.

could be a few things,broken spring,shock absorber,exhaust mountings,really have to jack it up for a look,good luck
