My car stereo wont work!!?

I have a sony car stereo CDX-GT210 and, after having the alternator replaced in my car, it doesnt work. The unit does not light up on the facia atall but there is power going into the facia housing. Can somebody help!! It's so boring sitting in traffic with no sounds!!
