Hotpoint WMA30 Washing Machine?

Called Hotpoint to carryout the repair. The Engineer stripped the machine down from the front and replaced the whole drum. They don't waste time stripping the drum to get to the bearings. The whole job took 30mins to complete.

As mentioned by others in the forum, if your machine is under 5 years old, then you just pay for call out & labour - £89.98. However, they do a scheme which cover parts and costs £149.

Thanks for the advice. When I manually spin the drum, I get a knocking / clicking noise on every 1-1/2 revoultions. The machine was very noisy initally, but never made this knocking. However, when I moved the machine to clean the area behind it started to make this knocking sound ever since. Not sure what I've disturbed to result this sound.

sounds like bearings, easy way to check just open door and spin drum by hand if makes noise or feels lose it the bearings and u will need engineer as not easy job. try www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk to find local one to u

two star shaped screws at either side ner front.two plastic covers covering them.prone to drum bearing probs
