Mend Toshiba 36A50 Tv Picture

Toshiba TV 36A50 has no picture, what is the problem?

TV has sound but the picture seems to have compressed itself into a bright line going horizontally across the center of the tv, any help would be appriaciated! Model # 36A50

Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT) probably shot. Should be at least 200 ohms across pins. Check schematic get number and replace.

THE VERTICAL SWEEP IS OUT AND THAT BRIGHT LINE WILL BURN THE SCREEN. TURN THE CRT BIAS DOWN OR UNPLUG THE CRT SOCKET. WITH THE SET OFF OVERCOURSE. THE VERTICAL OUTPUT MAY HAVE LOSE PINS AND CAN RESPONSE TO FREEZE SPRAY.
