hi iv taken my s type to a few garages and most say the gearbox is us.. but a few people say it just needs oil and filter change in gearbox . any ideas
5 speed Ford box or later 6 speed ZF? If slipping should bring up fault on dash. The Ford is slow to log faults instantly. An ATF and filter change is not going to fix a failing transmission. Debris blocking a filter will continue and block new filter. ZF uses lifefluid 6 (expensive) Common fault is engine coolant entering gearbox via cooler block. Get codes read.
