Mend Peugeot Ludix Blaster Bought Spark Plug

ludix blaster with misfire?

hi i have bought my son a peugeot ludix blaster 50cc and it has a misfire,i have had the spark plug and ht cap replaced by a nearby motorcycle garage and it seemed to be better for a short time but was soon doing it a again.it is very erratic and its driving my sone mad the bike will cut out randomly and its dangerous so i have told him to stop using it until we sort it out.does any of you have an idea of what might be wrong with it and is there any known problems with them?thanks alot in advance for any help with it,jackie

Hi m thanks again but my husband can still not see the condenser that bb has talked of,he has found the cdi box by the battery with the wires going to it though.he has cleaned the wires on the ignition switch they were a bit green looking?thanks again

no probs, its by your battery small and rectangle and the peugeot part number is 740220, its about 35 quid from peugeot but you can get an athena cdi for around £20, used to be a very common fault, they started to use this part back when they started in 1996 , with speedfights and still do now i used to sell a shed load, more when they have been stolen

Thankyou for answering so fast this good site! i will get my husband to have a look at the bits you have mentioned i have looked in the handbook and there is no mention of a condenser though where abouts is this ?many thanks again m and bb for your time and input im having to run my son around in my smart car and its driving me potty!

i agree with bb, its either the cdi unit (rectangle box by the battery) or the ignition wires coming out of the rear of the ignition barrell are corroded, i have had this a few times!

Possibly the coil or a condenser breaking down?
