do me a favor aswell, check the ignition barrell wires are nice and tight and that there is no excessive movement up and down when you insert the key, longshot i know but i had one LUDIX ONE wth a similar fault and it turned outt o be corroded ignition wiring where it comes out the back of the barrell

as the boys say, it is imperative that you see if you are losing your spark, to do this really you will need a ht tester which are a fiver, it goes between the plug cap and plug, all you do is watch the spark, and if you lose it its a process of elimination, the one thing i will tell you is that you CANNOT test the cdi it has no values that i can tell you to look for, however if you need specific readings for the stator etc let me know and i will tell you,, i am basing this theory on what you are saying about the spark, but would definetely get you to check the exhaust aint blocked and the crank seals are ok, tell me what compression you have!

oh and of course make sure the air flow is good as a blocked air filter will stop the air flow into the cylinder ans not allow it to rev.not as likely as the two probable causes i have given below though.

are you sure the exhaust isnt blocked up mate the cats come loose in them,try to loosen the exhaust whee it fits to the barrel and allow it to blow a bit it will be noisy but will determine wheter or not this is the problem.also check the reed petals as they will stop any revs being made too.any cracks or splits in them will cause this.

m its dy2 my bike wont start at all now it trys to start but wont and yes there is a spark it was fine yesterday until on the night i started it up but it wouldnt go over 10mph there has beeen a lot of work done to it piston,head,barrell,jets,carb,stator coil . no blockage in the exhaust ckecked plz help i,m all spent out plus i,m only 17 at college and phisically cant afford to spend anymore on it plz help me thankyou

Hi DY,

You say the bike does not start? Yet you then say it wont go over 10mph? I am a little confused by this. Could you explain a bit more? If it does start how when is it hot/cold etc etc.. when it wont start when etc.

You need to check for the spark, have you done this?

M is the best person to answer this as he is Mr Speedfighter.
