bosch oven door hinge has snapped shut?

Buy this man a beer or two -- or three! Appliance repair guy couldn't get to us for more than a month, and the holiday gatherings were threatened with cold pizza. Good to go now! Thanks!

OMG thank you so much Mark. After lots of shouting by my husband about me touching things I dont understand ( never known him to clean the oven) I found your solution on line and with a bit of help from my son rectified the problem. I simply put a screwdriver through the hinge hole.
I pulled until the lever dropped into place.
Voila.

It's only the second time I took the door off my oven. Instructions worked a treat. I noticed the edge that the hinge lock rests on was lower then on the other side so I used a screw driver to lever it up a bit to stop the hinge lock from slipping.

on the Bosch hinge there is an hole in the hinge lever, just put a heavy screw driver through the hole and "pull", its quiet easy.

The hinge needs to be opened quite wide so the pawl on the side of the hinge nearer the top of the door that is holding it in the locked position is released and drops down to hold the hinge open. Procedure: place oven door flat on a table with the hinge face up, but overhanging the table edge a few inches. Use a screwdriver that fits though the hole in the hinge, and push it right through to the hilt. Use a pair of long handled adjustable pliers to grip the shaft of the screwdriver immediately the other side of the hole from the hilt, holding the hilt tight against the hinge. The rounded portion of the head of the pliers should rest on the bottom of the oven door (place a cloth underneath the pliers so they won't scratch the door), and the handle will point upwards. Making sure you have a firm grip, rotate the pliers downwards towards the bottom of the door, which will open the hinge. You will need to rotate quite some way before the pawl is released to lock the hinge open - you need the overhang to do that. Once the hinge has locked open, release the pliers and remove the screwdriver. Repeat for the other hinge if needed.

Yes I removed the door for cleaning as I usually do but
when I tried to reinsert it I found the hinge is locked and too short to re install.
