kirby g4 foot switch ?

Just found out from Previous owner that there is a safety switch at the front of the unit that disables the main switch if the nozle attachment is not on. Need to also test that. Still working on getting the motor assembly out so that I can get to the switch. It looks like the switch may be able to be opened for repair. If I figure it out I'll post results. If any one has advice please let us know. The motor is a booger to get to but this machine is built like a tank. So far I'm very impressd with what they put inside this machine.

To check it electrically, you need a meter or continuity tester. First unplug cord and test it on both ends to see if it is good. If the Cord is good hold test leads on both switch cord connect prongs and activate the switch. If no continuity at switch, switch may be bad. Trying to figure out how to get switch out right now.
