Hi. Is there a logical reason why our dryer trips the household electricity when we turn it on?

Yes it has is shorting out somewhere. Could be the heater, motor, wiring, timer etc. If you don't know how to fault find or have the necessary test equipment then call in an expert. Do not use it in an unsafe condition.
