Opened the machine - the top is removed by undoing the two screws on the back of the lid and then sliding the top cover back.
To get to the circuit board you need to remove the control panel - two bolt headed screws at each side on the top and two screws that you can see when removing the powder/softener tray. It take a bit of fiddling as there are lugs on the bottom to hold it in snugly.
You then need to remove the five bolt headed screws at the front of the machine and then you can remove the circuit board in it's housing from the top of the machine (it is held in by a few lugs). You will need to remove the electical connectors to remove it, so mark which go where.
I remove the housing to check for burnt tracks etc - it was clean, (also there are no ribbon cables) so I reassembled.
Next I removed the door interlock, which looked to have scorch mark on the casing and I assume this is faulty. As it only costs £15 I have ordered a new one and will let you know once it arrives, probably next week. !
