How can I fix a Sears Kenmore sewing machine that won't go into reverse?

I have a Sears Kenmore sewing machine, model 385.17824090. It won't reverse. It did the last time I used it, but now it won't.

Hello Cathy,
Have you made sure you have the stitch length set not too small and not on any stretch stitches? failing that if it won't reverse it is usually lack of fine oil in the top if the machine.
