Mend Hotpoint VTD20 Bought Ago Hand

Hotpoint Aquarious VTD20 Cutting out?

Bought my dryer about a year ago 2nd hand and it had started making a scrapping noise when used, if you tilted it forward from the top this would stop the noise.

Since then when I turn the machine on it will run for about 5 mins before it trips all sockets out in my house.

Would the 2 be connected or what else could it be so I can get my cloths dry???
