My spin controller does not seem to be conected to the controller can the controller be replased

Thank you so much. I just tried this - I was washing a rug and nothing else. Machine wouldn't spin but it worked fine empty and when I added some towels went on to spin the rug without any trouble. Top!

Firstly check your filter - if the machine can't pump out the water it won't spin. also check outlet hose for blockages and kinks and if the outlet hose connects to the sink plumbing then check that connection as well.
Next check that the machine can spin empty. If it can it may be that the load you have in it is unbalanced. Modern machines check OOB electronicly and won't spin an OOB load.
If the machine won't spin empty it could be the motor brushes need changing

check your filter is not blocked,if thats ok then clean out the water pump,if it cant empty water because of a blockage it wont spin at all,just stops when it hits the spin cycle
