my 1999 ford galaxy tdi automatic will not start and the reversing light on all the time and some times it looses drive if i stop and re start it drives ok for a while can you help
The range switch is the starter inhibitor and Reverse light switch as well. I do not have the year change for 4/5 speed in my head. The 4 speed has a clamp on with single bolt fixing at the rear of transmission. This may be out of place slightly. The 5 speed switch is on top of box and can be adjusted if out of alignment.(3 bolts). Loss of drive and return of drive after switching off for a while and restarting is normally a blocked filter. could be a faulty reversing light switch or a shorting wire in the rubber bits that go to the tailgate from the car roof
