timing belt setting pins?

how long should the timing pin b 4 a ford courier 1.8 non turbo deisol it is the pin that is inserted behind the alternator to set the crank in the right place i need to know the lenght from the shoulder to the tip it is about 65 mm but i could be wrong i only need to check cam timing so dont need a full kit at £30 .00 plus please oblige peter
