Mend Battery Plug Full

why is my caravan battery shorting out?

i have charge in my battery but when i plug my 240 in, the gauge says full, then as soon as i switch the water/ water heater or lights to on its shorts right to empty? can anyone help?

Trial and error.Electrical faults are a pain
Could be battery is faulty especially if old one breaking down under load.
Could be the onboard charger if the C/van has one.
Could be short out on any part of the 12volt system.
