Mend Hotpoint WM63P Machine Broken Model

How do I fit a door hinge on a Hotpoint WM63P washing machine?

I have taken out the broken door hinge for my Hotpoint washing machine (model WM63P). To put the new door hinge onto the machine, I cannot reach the handle where the hinge fits into without dismantling the stone under the machine.

I believe the trick is to remove the door seal to get at the reaining plate behind the hinge ie to stop the plate falling inside
