Kenmore Microwave hood combination #665-61701100?

While replacing a lite bulb under the unit I crossed
theaded the replacement bulb and busted the bulb holder and shorted out the breaker. After resetting
the breaker I found that the whole unit was dead. I ask a electrician friend who said that I probably shorted out the electical pannel - and that it would probably be just about as cheap to buy another unit -what do you think? Ser.#TRL5211713 - dec. 2001 - thank you.
